The Administrative Court of Bavaria Stops the Hotel Building

The Administrative Court of Bavaria – the Free State’s highest level of administrative jurisdiction – qualified the development plan as invalid which scheduled a hotel-construction at the historic Market Place of Berchtesgaden. The planned building would have a deep impact on the age-long evolved structure of the historic town-center which is divided into small sections. Thus the Court confirmed the claimant’s title to protection of a traditional area.
